To begin we normally expect that you fill out the different forms (you can find them in our website). These forms help you understand you, be aware of any conditions we should be aware, for example if you suffer from Epilepsy is not recommended that you don't use Hypnosis in most cases. Always consult your Doctor before you see a Hypnotherapist or a Consulting Hypnotist.
First we have have a professional conversation with you, a Free Consultation, usually between 15-30 minutes and explain to you in detail what to expect from the session.
Maybe you have questions about control in Hypnosis, or if Hypnotism is safe?
Let's put a couple of clarifications here:
– When you are in Hypnosis you are never under control of the Hypnotist.
– Your mind is never “blank”. Actually your mind is more focused.
– Hypnosis or Hypnotism is very similar to what we call day dreaming. Something similar to when you are so into a TV program or movie that all your concentration is there, but you are still in control and if all the sudden you smell something burning you stop your concentration right the way.
– The Hypnotist cannot make do something against your moral principles.
– You are not going to go blank and forget everything.
– Something that normally happens is that are so focused that you are not aware of the time ... like the TV idea mentioned above.
At the beginning of the actual Hypnosis session the Hypnotist will help you to relax you so you can go into your subsconscious --- some prefer to call Permanent Memory --- , some times this can a few minutes other more, depends on you and the technique use by the Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist.
When you are so focused that you and the Hypnotist gain access to your subconscious he or she will guide you so you can start making the changes you want.
For example is you want to quit smoking a Hypnotherapist or Hypnotist may put suggestion that can be negative like the awful smell of the cigarrete or positive ones like how good you will feel with your lungs are filled out with clean air. We at the NLP Hypnosis Centre don't like using negative suggestion, we always use positive ones.
This part is the longest one and could take between 20 minutes to 1 hour or more. It all depends in the issue or problem you bring to the table.
After that, in our case, the Consulting Hypnotist will bring you back slowly and making sure you feel relaxed and full of energy at the same time.
As you can see from our name NLP Hypnosis Centre, we are also Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioners, so we might use this technique in the session combined with Hypnosis or by itself. In NLP you don't get that deep or focused ... looks more like a conversation, and you can get great results and very fast. Of course if you combine both it is more powerful.
The reason why we mention NLP is because some people feel better with this techniques as they feel is like a conversation, and in Hypnosis is more the Hypnotist taking .. doing the Hypnotistm.
